Brian Szilvasy is the founding attorney of We Protect Consumers, P.A., a consumer defense law firm based in Tampa, Florida. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and raised in Defuniak Springs, Florida, he developed a strong work ethic and a dedication to helping others early on.
Brian earned a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law with a minor in Philosophy from the University of West Florida in 1994. After managing a day labor company for a year, he went on to attend the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor in 1998.
He began his legal career with the First Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office, gaining valuable courtroom experience in the misdemeanor division. Brian later joined Bray & Singletary in Jacksonville, Florida, where he spent approximately seven years and rose to the position of Senior Associate, focusing on debt recovery matters.
He then became the Florida Managing Attorney for Zwicker & Associates, where he launched and expanded the firm’s Florida operations. Under his leadership, the firm grew to three locations across the state, with a team of eight attorneys, more than 30 paralegals, and a collections department of over 60 staff members.
After six years, Brian founded We Protect Consumers, P.A., where over the past 12 years, he has defended more than 40,000 cases and helped save clients over $45 million.
Outside of the office, Brian is a proud father of two and grandfather of two. His passions include world travel, bill fishing, and cheering on Gator sports.
