Osceola County, Fla. – A fiery crash involving three tractor-trailers on Florida’s Turnpike early Wednesday left one driver dead and another seriously injured, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The southbound collision occurred around 3:15 a.m. near mile marker 248, south of Kissimmee, when a tractor-trailer failed to slow for traffic and struck the back of another truck, pushing it into a third rig. One of the trucks caught fire, and all southbound lanes were shut down for several hours.
The 38-year-old Orlando man driving the second truck was transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver of the third truck was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
