Fatal Two Semi-Truck Crash Shuts Down Part of State Road 60 in Osceola County

A section of State Road 60 in Osceola County was temporarily closed following a fatal collision involving two semi trucks, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). The crash occurred around 2:40 p.m. on January 14 near Peavine Road in Kenansville.

The FHP confirmed that one person died as a result of the accident. As of 4 p.m., both directions of State Road 60 remain closed while authorities investigate and crews work to clear the scene. Collisions involving commercial trucks often require extended closures due to the size of the vehicles, extensive debris, and the need for a detailed investigation when a fatality occurs.

At this time, investigators have not released details on what caused the collision, and the identity of the deceased has not been made public.

Understanding Your Rights After a Serious or Fatal Accident

Losing a loved one in a tragic crash, such as this semi-truck accident, is an overwhelming and life-altering experience. When negligent or unsafe practices contribute to a collision, families may have the right to pursue justice through a wrongful death claim.

Speaking with an experienced Florida truck accident lawyer or personal injury attorney can help you understand your options and protect your rights from the start.

Potential Compensation in Truck Accidents

Accidents involving large commercial vehicles can lead to catastrophic injuries or fatalities. Victims and families may be eligible for compensation related to:

  • Medical expenses

  • Funeral and burial costs

  • Lost wages

  • Pain and suffering

  • Loss of companionship

  • Other financial and emotional damages

Insurance companies often prioritize their bottom line, offering quick settlements that may not reflect the true value of your case. An attorney ensures your best interests are protected throughout the process.

Why You Should Contact a Personal Injury Attorney First
